Divination And Diviners.

Divination is the art by which the mysteries of human life(past, present and future) are unveiled. Divination can be used to ascertain the cause and or effect of anything under the sun.

A diviner is someone who has been trained in the art of divination.

The oracle is the vehicle by which the language of the invisible world is understood.

With these definition in place we can begin to proceed with the goal of this article, which is to attempt to shed some light on the relationship between the three.

A lot of confusion and propaganda has been associated with the two critical aspects of divination, the oracle and the diviner. For it is through the vehicle of the Oracle that the messages are symbolized and interpreted. Also it falls unto us to trust the ability and integrity of the diviner. The Oracle never lies, what makes the difference is the ability of the diviner and his connection with the spirit world. There have been criticism of each oracle, tarot, stones, bones, shells, coconuts.etc. The Oracles available to us in Trinidad and Tobago are as various as the races we represent. Some of us may be familiar with a few of those mentioned.

In the study of the Oracle there is something called the Key. Its is through a intellectual and meta-intellectual understanding of this key that creates a skilled diviner. The Key must be internalized and its subtle language understood by more than mere intellect. To further expound what was mentioned by Celtic Crystal I agree with throwing away the book however it should be done after the Key has been learned. There is another aspect of the oracle that must be addressed. The spirit that speaks through it. It is wise to know, understand and forge a relationship with the spirit that speaks through the oracle. For reasons that may be obvious to all.

Lastly we touch upon the role and qualities of a diviner. Regardless of the Oracle used we can see the need for a diviner to be respected. The diviner acts as a spokesperson for the invisible world. He/She mediates between us mere common folk and the world of the unseen. Diviners should possess:
Intelligence
Wisdom
Confidentiality
Integrity
Objectivity
Tact
Responsibility
Humility
