Wicca through different lens

Journeying with Wicca is truly unique. There are many you meet along the path, whose road is labelled the same, but the look and feel are different.

The individual is like a lens, each individual a different lens, and aspects of Wicca are chosen and collected by the individual, yet the final image is different in each individual.

From my lens, gods and goddesses are nothing more than energies that can be used when needed. I feel no compunction to dedicate my practice to any one particular god or goddess. Like a fickle child, I go to each with a particular goal in mind.

I also feel no compunction to collect numbers and prosthelytizing is best left for those who need numbers to justify to themselves that their faith is the right one.

Creation is......that is all.... all the energies exist, and the number of people who believe in (insert name of whatever here) does not change that. At the end of all argument that have been put forth by the mind of man, we all acknowledge that spirit exists.

It is my personal belief that in Spirit, on some level that we cannot see, we are all connected like drops of water in the ocean. We cannot separate ourselves from each other, and that everything we interact with is connected to us forever in some way.

Spiritual connection for the individual, is...and has to remain...unique to that individual. Just as each person has likes and dislikes.....and each person should learn to listen to their "touchstones" to know what touches their spirit. Keep what speaks to you, throw out what makes you uneasy. Revisit all points you have stopped at occasionally to see if you can relate to anything you have discarded. Move along your faith in a spiral dance, returning to old theories and colouring them with your own "lens"........your spirit will only soar.....and your connection to the all will be established.

I am what people will call and indisciplined witch.... eclectic if that makes people more comfortable. No god or goddess can "trap" me in their grasp, for I will soon see their shortcomings. No religion will ever hold my mind, for these are rationalized by men, and created by men....and they have great shortcomings. Traditions hold no spiritual water for me, because the mind can be chained to an idea, and this idea can limit the flight of Spirit.........and I really want to fly!

What is Wicca? Part one

If you are expecting to gain power, control or manipulate people, then you do not want Wicca; you want a Hollywood movie. People seek out Wicca for magick, and yes there is magick, but not the kind you see in Charmed or the Craft. Wicca, to put it simply, is a nature based faith, with roots over 25,000 years old. There are basics to the Craft such as learning rituals, divination, associations, spell writing. Then there are also pantheons to learn about…and yourself, which perhaps is the most important of all. Additionally, Wicca expects observations of Nature around you, the cycles of the earth, the seasons, the moon and again, yourself. It forces you to question what is important to your spiritual growth and you relationship with yourself. One of the basic questions about Wiccan is always “What do you believe in?”, or “Who do you believe in?” To begin with, there is the All. The All Creative, All spirit, or the One. Everything that exists, exists in the All. Not outside, not separate and apart, but within. This entity is everything; good and bad, male and female, animal, vegetable and mineral…the list goes on. We are connected to the All and all things. All things have a connection to us. The only difference between us and a plant is the levels of consciousness that each has. From the All, the One comes the division of two. These are the Male and Female principles, personified as the God and The Goddess. The God is masculine, the giver of the life principle, and is sometimes represented by the Sun and the Stars. The Goddess is the female principle, represented by the generating Earth and receptive Moon. Wiccans believe in reincarnation. Everything is energy, has energy. Energy never dies; it is transformed into another energy. Death is the point of entry to a new life, one which there is no need to fear. The cycle of life surrounds us; we have removed ourselves from Nature and have become blind to her teachings. Wiccan uses magick, creative prayer or spell working, to connect to the God and Goddess and other facets of the All Creative. Through Magick, each individual empowers themselves to live their fullest existence. Understanding the use of this gift is extremely important for the beginner. Wiccan Rede

The Wiccan rede is one of the laws we live by. Its the law to keep in mind as you go about y

our day. "And ye harm none, do what thou will"...... is the guide to choosing what's right or wrong. Think of it before you commit to any action.

Wicca speaks to us getting back in touch with our selves, our community and our environment, and living in harmony with all. We have forgotten the Earth's natural cycles. Man has begun to fight Mother NAture instead of learning to work with her. We are at war with our environment. We try to control it through rerouting the rivers, cutting the mountains, dredging the rivers and filling in the sea. Our land fights back with landslides and floods and polluted fish being sent back to us. Yet we haven't heard its complaints...we are not listening.

We fight our minds for control, we ddeny ourselves, ourselves. We try to become what others expect of us not realizing that we are dishonouring what the God and Goddes have created. We need to work in harmany....we need to see the miracles in everyday life.

The more in tune with oursleves and our environment we are, the more synchronocity is evident in our lives. This is the "Magick" we seek...we help that magick through spells "prayer". We align our unconcious selves with our concoius selves. We trim the hated, the toxic, the negative from our lives and leave the calm.....

Wicca is about learning. Only those willing to make the commitment to learn will find the magick..........
