| No introductions necessary here - ever wonder why Jesus is always depicted carrying the Lamb/ Ram? Is it a coincidence that the Lamb/ Ram is the sign for Aries, in which the Sun is reborn...and the "SUN of God" opps...I mean SON is carrying it? Makes you think...#Christianity IsASolarCult |
In many myths, cultures and religions, we come across the theme of 'the Dying God'....I was recently pondering this theme, because how many times has humanity murdered, tortured and crucified their saviours? How many times have the Enlightened, Pure and Holy Ones sacrificed themselves on the altar of humanity to redeem their ignorance? Osiris, Tammuz, Adonis, Attis, Krishna, Jesus, Imam Husayn, Mithras, are all archetypes of the Saviour who dies in order that humanity may be redeemed...in every culture it exists and it shows that there are many Pure Souls who are manifestations of the Divine's Love for Mankind yet we don't appreciate this guidance. Instead, we embrace the darkness of ignorance, materialism, greed and all base emotions. To fit this into a Wiccan framework, it shows that the God sacrifices Himself while the Goddess, the feminine principle is eternal. It reflects and echoes the passage of the seasons, of the Sun in his journey through the year. While in the Caribbean we are blessed with Eternal summer and take the sun for granted, some people in other countries commit suicide when the Sun is at his lowest ebb in winter, when there's little to no sunlight. The Sun has served as a pattern for most if not all of humanity's saviour-gods. There is birth, growth and finally destruction which is an ever repeating cycle...it is amazing to contemplate it.

Perhaps the " Dying God" theme is a reminder that even gods need to go through the cycle of lie and death to spiritually strengthen themselves.... or is of a reminder of the cycles of creation... birth ageing death..... it is something to contemplate. Our ever present Sun, ever life giving at its strongest and hottest... the energy here should be strong. And it is.....
Yes I agree...the energy in the Caribbean (and other tropical places by that extension)is quite strong. It's defintely not the same in temperate countries.
